The Use of Soxhlet Techniques in the Essential Oil Extraction from Anise Seeds (Pimpinella anisum)

<strong>ABSTRACT. </strong>Anise seeds can be processed into essential oils by steam distillation and solvent extraction. This research aims to produce a high oil yield determining the optimum conditions of extraction, extracting anise according conditions, producing with good quality based on 90% alcohol solubility analysis, analyzing acid number, conducting GC-MS analysis. The Activity Method was carried out extraction effect variation in ratio between seed powder petroleum ether. Furthermore, optimal at temperature 60°C, 5 hours repetitions. results were analyzed including GC-MS. obtained ether 1:12.5 an average 4.72%. analysis showed that had 1:7 ratio. number 1.14444. contained estragol, anethole, limonene, fenchone, anis ketone.
